Senior midfielder Kim Canfield and senior back Alex Stoner of the Arcadia University women’s soccer team have been named Second-Team All-Region selections by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Canfield was named an all-region selection for the second straight season, while this marks the first all-region honor for Stoner.

Canfield started in all 24 games for the Knights, and finished second on the team in scoring with seven goals and a school-record 16 assists for 30 points. Her 16 assists were the most in the Commonwealth Conference and rank her fifth in the nation, while her 30 points are the fifth-most in the conference. Canfield was named a Second-Team All-Commonwealth Conference selection in 2014 after earning First-Team honors in 2012 and 2013, and was named a Second-Team All-Region selection last season.

Stoner also started all 24 games for Arcadia, anchoring a defense the ranked second in the league with 0.58 goals allowed per game and 14 total goals allowed while registering nine shutouts. She chipped in on the offense end of the field by scoring her only goal of the season in a 1-0 victory at Goucher College. Stoner was also named a Second-Team All-Commonwealth Conference selection this season after receiving Honor Mention in each of the previous two seasons.

Canfield and Stoner have also been recognized this season for their performance in the classroom, being named Capital One First-Team Academic All-District® selections and earning a spot on the Middle Atlantic Conference Honor Roll. Canfield went on to be named a Capital One Second-Team All-America® selection, making her the first to receive that honor in school history. The Capital One Academic All-America® program is selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

They helped lead the Knights to an overall record of 18-6-0 in 2014, setting a program record for wins in a season, while leading Arcadia so its second straight Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III South Championship.
