The College of Global Studies at Arcadia University is pleased to announce a new STEM Summer Research Program in Dublin, Ireland. Students will choose an independent research project from one of these study areas: biology, chemistry, computer science, geological sciences, mathematics, or physics.

This is a four-credit program, beginning summer 2015, and lasting eight weeks. It offers students a combination of rigorous academic study, under the direction of a research mentor, with the opportunity to develop critical thinking skills while enjoying a variety of cultural and social opportunities.

The program is offered through University College Dublin (UCD). Ranked within the top 1 percent of institutions worldwide by the Times Higher Education rankings, UCD provides top quality facilities and faculty to support student research projects in the UCD O’Brien Center for Science.

Jessie Guinn, assistant academic dean of STEM at The College of Global Studies, Arcadia University, commented: “This program gives students the ability to conduct their own research under the guidance of faculty and graduate student scientists with expertise in areas such as molecular biology, particle physics, synthetic chemistry and data analytics. It’s a wonderful opportunity to enhance analytical and technical skills, build résumés, and learn about the fascinating culture of Ireland.”

In addition to Ireland, Arcadia STEM Summer Research programs are available in Sicily, Italy;London, England; Glasgow, Scotland and Granada, Spain.
