Rosen Publishes Her Research in the ‘International Journal of Leadership in Education’ and ‘Education 3-13’
Dr. Sonia M. Rosen, visiting assistant professor, recently published two pieces of research. Her article, “Identity Performance and Collectivist Leadership in the Philadelphia Student Union,” published in the International Journal of Leadership in Education, explores youth leadership from a collectivist perspective and demonstrates that this model of leadership can allow youth members to actively participate in redefining the identity of their organization. She also co-authored an article with Dr. Joseph Boyle from Temple University titled “Exploring Metacognitive Strategy Use During Note-taking for Students with Learning Disabilities,” which was published June 2014 in Education 3-13. This article argues that strategically structuring note-taking for students with learning disabilities creates a supportive context for metacognition and working memory.
