Dr. Slesaransky-Poe Featured in Reading Eagle for Transgender Rights Presentation

Dr. Graciela Slesaransky-Poe was featured in the Oct. 31 The Reading Eagle for presenting to the Exeter School Board about supporting transgender students in the district.

“There is a lot of fear and lack of education,” said Dr. Slesaransky-Poe. “That’s why I love having the opportunity to hopefully open hearts.”

Dr. Slesaransky-Poe was recently named a 2017 Champion of Social Justice by the Parent Education and Advocacy Leadership (PEAL) Center. She is a founding member of Education Deans for Equity and Justice, as well as the National Advisory Council of Welcoming Schools for the Human Rights Campaign (HRC). She also received the Arcadia University Ally Award in 2014 and Pennsylvania’s Education for All Coalition Inc.’s Patricia J. Creegan Award for Excellence in Inclusive Education in 2011.
