Dr. Wes Rose, associate professor of Biology, and Biology major Aspen Settle ’19 presented “Diverse patterns of phosphatase activation and localization: unique implications for the control of interferon-gamma signaling in CNS neurons” at the American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB) and European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) Conference in Philadelphia this December.

Dr. Rose’s research was co-authored by Biology graduates Lauren Jolley ’16, Lexi Broome ’16, Colby Stotesbury ’13, and Katelyn Sweeney ’13, as well as Dr. Glenn Rall of Fox Chase Cancer Center’s Blood Cell Development and Function program.

The poster, which included elements from the students’ Capstone projects, characterized antiviral immune mechanisms of the body’s central nervous system.
