Dr. Bruce Campbell, associate professor in the School of Education, was featured in the September 2018 issue of the National Business Education Association’s (NBEA) Keying In for his Preview course, “Get Your Groove On: Exploring the Urban Music Scene in London and Philadelphia.”

The Preview course was highlighted in “When Streets Become Classrooms: New Ideas for Unique Field Trips” for its hands-on approach to learning about the music industry in Philadelphia and London. Through the excursion, students meet with music producers and artists to understand how gentrification and technology have changed the field in both locations.

“Tell students as much as possible up front before going overseas— and repeat it over and over again,” advised Dr. Campbell for those new to taking students abroad. “If you have a hunch that something’s going on with a student, follow up. Taking two seconds to check in after class goes a long way.”
