Tanzania Peace Research Director Meets with Arcadia Senior Leadership
Roland Adjovi, Academic Director of The College of Global Studies Center for East African Studies in Arusha, Tanzania, met with President Carl (Tobey) Oxholm III and Dr. Dennis Dutschke, Dean of Studies in The College of Global Studies, this week for a discussion about educational and research activities at the Center for East African Studies in the Nyerere Centre for Peace Research, a research and training facility established jointly by Arcadia University and the East African Community (EAC).
At the Centre, faculty and students collaborate with partners from the East African Law Society, the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (UN ICTR), and the African Union Court of Human and People’s Rights.
While on campus, Adjovi met with The College of Global Studies and Arcadia University administrators, staff and faculty to conclude the summer program and planning the Fall 2011 program, as well as developing a community service and service learning program in Tanzania. He also met with Dr. Warren Haffar, Dean of International Affairs and Director of the IPCR program, to discuss graduate studies and closer ties between the Center for East African Studies and the IPCR program.
