Meet the Dean
Welcome to the College of Arts and Sciences at Arcadia University.
Welcome to Arcadia University’s College of Arts and Sciences (CAS)! Please visit the webpages of our 10 departments and 26 academic programs and send us emails if you have any questions regarding the undergraduate or graduate program you are interested in joining. We look forward to your inquiries regarding a major, pre-professional program or graduate study and to meeting you during your campus visit, at an online info session or on campus if you have decided to join us as an Arcadia Knight!
We are the home of the liberal arts with fields and disciplines that use varied approaches to engage with ideas and seek to advance knowledge in the arts, humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. Our students engage in a wide range of in and out of classroom activities and co-curricular programs. They study abroad for a semester or academic year by working with advisors to choose the appropriate program from among over 100 programs in various countries. There are also opportunities to participate in the NCAA Division III athletic teams and over 50 student clubs and organizations. Additionally, our Glenside campus is only a short train, bus or car ride away from the City of Philadelphia where students intern, visit historical sites, and museums.
We also offer several opportunities for graduate study, including joint masters programs within CAS and with other schools and colleges. Graduate programs include Master of Arts in Counseling (MAC), MA in English, MFA in Creative Writing, Master of Science in Forensic Science (MSFS), and MA in International Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR) that are all very highly regarded. Our graduate programs facilitate opportunities for students to gain knowledge, skills and expertise through courses, seminars and internships while also developing their professional networks, including with alumni, and participating in their professional associations.
Our excellent faculty, many of whom have received national teaching awards, are implementing inclusive pedagogies that increase possibilities for our students’ positive personal transformation. They provide personal attention to our students through holistic academic advising and serve as mentors in creative and scholarly projects. They share their work publicly at local, regional, national and international conferences, exhibitions, galleries, workshops, symposia and theaters as well as in academic journals, chapters in books and books.
