Addressing Health Inequities
The College of Health Sciences is a member of the Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH), which includes 170 academic institutions and other organizations from around the world engaged in addressing global health challenges. Mission
The College of Health Sciences is committed to the advancement of the health and well-being of humanity. Emerging from the long and proud history of Beaver College as a primarily teaching institution, the faculty, staff, and students of the College of Health Science are dedicated to educating the next generation of healthcare providers as clinicians, researchers, and professional leaders. We are committed to the ideals of the Arcadia promise, a distinctively global, integrative and personal education focused on expanding the science of health through the promotion of knowledge, discovery of new ideas, and delivery of care beyond the traditional or geographic boundaries. To achieve these goals, the members of the Arcadia University College of Health Sciences embrace the education and scholarship of the science of health from the classroom into the world, by embracing both the discovery of new knowledge and the integration of existing knowledge through evidence-based practice.

Advisory Council Members
Until her recent retirement, Estrich was a dynamic industry expert in the areas of Property and Casualty and Group Health Managed Care. Estrich has been part of the executive management team at MedRisk for almost 15 years and was responsible for strategic initiatives, new product development, clinical operations, and overseeing MedRisk’s clinical and research subsidiary, Expert Clinical Benchmarks (ECB). Estrich is currently consulting with start ups in the Workers Compensation medical management industry.
Tom Johnston: Executive Consultant Biotech/Pharma
With more than 18 years of leadership experience in biotech and other industries. Johnston has most recently worked with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation funded Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI.) The CEPI is creating innovative partnerships between public, private, philanthropic, and civil organizations to create new vaccines that will prevent deadly infectious diseases that have epidemic potential from becoming global health emergencies. Johnston previously led Mucosis BV, a Dutch vaccine developer, as Chief Executive Officer after starting with the company in May 2011. He joined Mucosis from Novavax Inc., where he served as Vice President of Strategy since April 2008, where he developed and executed a regional partnership strategy concluding deals in India, Mexico, and South Korea. Prior to joining Novavax, Johnston served as an executive-level Strategic Consultant in a number of industries including biotech, financial services, and electronic security, with clients such as Novavax, RBC Bank and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Johnston held varying senior‐level positions with a number of world‐class organizations such as Comcast, Microsoft, and Schlumberger. He holds an M.B.A. from The Wharton Business School and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Arcadia University.
Dr. Julie Landis is a graduate of the Arcadia Physical Therapy Program. Following her time as a clinical Physical Therapist, she was President and CEO of Ergo Concepts, LLC for the 15 years prior to selling her business to Briotix Health, where she has served as Vice President of Business Development. Briotix Health is the industry leader in workforce performance and optimization solutions. Services include Industrial Sports Medicine Programs for Working Athletes, Onsite Physical Therapy, Ergonomics, Safe Patient Handling and Mobility Programs for Healthcare, Specialized Solutions, and Technology Enabled Services.
In her role, Dr. Landis is responsible for identifying new business opportunities and linking client needs to the Briotix Health service portfolio. Briotix Health prides itself as a relationship company that gets to know the work and know the worker. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Associate, APTAs Occupational Health Section, American Society of Safety Professionals, and The Risk Management Society.
Mission
The mission of the College of Health Sciences (CHS) Advisory Board to guide, promote, advise and support the College in its effort to achieve its mission and to continually improve the quality of education to meet marketplace needs.
Functions
- Advising the College, through the Dean, on issues that impact mission and strategy
- Serving as a sounding board on planning issues, new programs, and activities
- Serving as an advocate for the College’s interest with the external community
- Assisting in acquiring resources and fund raising in support of the mission
