Bachelor’s Degree in International Business and Culture
An International Business and Culture major at Arcadia gains a global mindset and combines liberal arts, business, language, and international study to gain a diverse background for careers with both domestic and international organizations. This program offers many opportunities for global experience, from two weeks to an entire year.
Studying International Business and Culture, you will:
- Develop an international perspective on best business, communication, and leadership practices.
- Become proficient in a foreign language and in understanding other cultures so you can adapt quickly in your chosen area of the world.
- Put your knowledge to work through study abroad, international internships, computer simulations, and Senior Thesis.
Arcadia’s International Business and Culture can be completed in three years. In this track, you will work closely with two academic advisors to produce a program of study that fits your needs and interests.

3-Year Option
Students with demonstrated high academic achievement may be eligible to complete the Business Administration degree in 3 years. The three-year format lightens the financial burden for students seeking to reduce college costs. Each student’s program is individualized based on numerous factors including AP, IB or dual enrollment credits earned during high school. Accelerated degree students work closely with two academic advisors to produce a program of study that fits their needs and interests.
Concentrations
Concentrations allow you to specialize in an area of business. Augment your program and further prepare for your career by selecting one of the following.
Economics
Apply microeconomics and macroeconomics to problems of business decision making and learn the effect of governmental policies on the business environment. This concentration will also provide you with a foundation for graduate programs in law, business, public administration, or economics.
Management
Learn the fundamental knowledge for supervisory roles in a variety of industries, or for entry into corporate management training programs. You will explore human resources, information systems, and be able to choose a further path in social media, agribusiness, or sport management.
Finance
Interested in working in economic and financial institutions or finance departments of corporations? Gain an in-depth background in finance with principles of financial analysis, investments, and banking.
Marketing
From research and planning to messaging and promotion, the marketing concentration prepares you to work in the marketing divisions of corporations, or at more specialized marketing firms such as advertising agencies and market research organizations.

Required Course
Survey the fundamentals of business administration, looking at both external and internal factors that influence organizational decisions. You will examine the role of the organizational decision-maker operating in the global marketplace.
International Environment and Legal issues for Business
Required Course
Explore the international legal environment that influences business decisions, including international treaties, sources of international laws, environmental laws, contracts, tariffs and trade, licensing, agency and employment, and regulatory issues.
International Marketing
Required Course
Study the historical and theoretical background of foreign trade, world marketing environment and patterns, and international marketing organization and management.
Internship in International Business and Culture
Required Course
Complete 100 hours of internship work in a professional organizational setting. You will apply academic concepts in a work environment that is related to international business and culture. This course can be completed while working with businesses abroad.
