Breaking Through the Barriers
Arcadia gave me the confidence and drive to become a change agent and leader in the field of education. As I prepare for my fourth year as a founding school counselor, I am organizing ways to better prepare my students for life beyond elementary, middle, and high school. My experience at Arcadia wasn’t an easy road, especially as I battled a rare form of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, but it has strengthened my confidence that all things are possible even with the toughest obstacles. Since graduating, I’ve been accepted into Arcadia’s doctoral program in Educational Leadership. I plan on starting the program as a cancer warrior, and I am hopeful that I will accept my Doctoral degree healthier, stronger, and wiser.
Leading by Example
My greatest achievement is becoming a mother. I’ve been blessed with two beautiful, loving, intelligent, kind, and empathetic children. They give me every reason in the world to work hard, accomplish goals, and be the best version of myself. I work so hard in school to show perseverance during the most difficult times in life. My children have witnessed me studying and working while tired, exhausted, happy, and accomplished. I’m setting the foundation for what they can achieve in life, no matter the barriers.
Arcadia gave me the confidence and drive to become a change agent and leader in the field of education.
