Biography
Barry Logan is a leading international authority on forensic toxicology with specific interests in the toxicology of novel psychoactive substances, and alcohol and drug impaired driving. He is Chief Scientist at NMS Labs a leading national reference laboratory for forensic toxicology and chemistry. He previously served for nineteen years as state toxicologist for the state of Washington, overseeing the State’s forensic alcohol and drug testing programs. Dr. Logan is Board Certified by the American Board of Forensic Toxicologists (ABFT), and has over 150 publications in peer-reviewed literature. He has testified in civil and criminal cases in over 200 trials in ten states and in federal court. Since 2001, Dr. Logan has served as Director of Indiana University’s Borkenstein Course, where he has hosted experts in alcohol and drug impairment from around the world as members of the faculty. Since 2010 he has served as Executive Director of the Center for Forensic Science Research and Education (CFSRE), at the Fredric Rieders Family Renaissance Foundation. The CFSRE partners with Arcadia University to provide hands on instruction in analytical toxicology with a range of state-of-the-art instrumentation and an internationally recognized research team.
