Serving as Director for Advancement Communications in the division of University Advancement, Christopher Grosso shares stories of philanthropy at Arcadia, highlighting how and why people choose to support the work of the University and its students. These stories then encourage others to consider making a gift to Arcadia.
Prior to Arcadia, Christopher served in a number of director-level communications and advancement roles at non-profits, including at Cranaleith Spiritual Center (Sisters of Mercy) and for the Congregation of the Mission (Vincentians).
For seven years, Christopher served in communications at Cabrini University, ultimately being Director of Leadership Communications for the University’s President and Cabinet.
Earlier, Christopher was a full-time healthcare and end-of-life chaplain at Philadelphia-based hospices, nursing homes, and hospitals.
Christopher has an MA in Religious and Pastoral Studies (Cabrini University), and MFA in Creative Writing (Brooklyn College) and a BA in English (West Chester University). He also completed 1,600 hours of Clinical Pastoral Education (chaplaincy training) at St. Mary Medical Center.
His book-length series of poems, Said to Godhead, was published in 2022 by Alien Buddha Press. Thirty West Press published his previous collection of poems, Philadelphia Swank, in 2017 after winning the press’ poetry contest that same year. His poetry has been featured in dozens of journals, including most recently in 3 Elements Review, Dime Store Review, Brooklyn Review, Apiary, and Macrina Magazine, among others. Crossroad Press publishes his three novels: Mouth to God’s Ear, Mauled, and Godfat’s Door.
He lives in Phoenixville, PA, with his wife, stepdaughter, and three mischievous cats.
