I've been teaching college-level poetry, English, and literature courses for just over a decade. I started teaching at my alma mater, Arizona State University, just after receiving my MFA in creative writing (poetry) under the guidance of poets Cynthia Hogue, Norman Dubie, Jeannine Savard, Beckian Fritz Goldberg, and Alberto Rios. During my time in this highly rated program, I composed an MFA thesis that was also a finalist for the ABZ First Book Award.
Since then, I've been continuously publishing work. My full-length collection of poetry titled An Unwalled City is forthcoming from Prolific Press. I am also one of the poets included in the forthcoming anthology Best Emerging Poets 2014 (Stay Thirsty Publishing) and my work has appeared in The Bakery, Cricket Online Review, Poetry Quarterly, NANO Fiction, The Literary Review, and in other journals and anthologies.
I teach online poetry courses for Arcadia's low-residency MFA program, and I'm on campus for the in-person residencies in Glenside, Pennsylvania, as well as in Edinburgh, Scotland. I currently live in Brooklyn with my husband and sons.
