Kathryn Petersen (Associate Professor of Theater) received her B.A. in Psychology from Wheaton College and her M.F.A. in Playwriting from Temple University. As a professional actress and member of the Actor’s Equity Association, she’s appeared in over seventy productions regionally. As a playwright and member of the Dramatist’s Guild, Kathryn has had eleven plays produced and two published. Arthur’s Stone, Merlin’s Fire, published by Dramatic Publishing Company, has been produced by schools and theaters around the country. Treasure Island the Panto had multiple productions and was published by Playscripts Inc. Cinderella, reprised at People's Light in November 2013, garnered thirteen Philadelphia Barrymore Award nominations, including a nomination for Outstanding New Play of 2008. She is one of six playwrights chosen nationally to be part of the New Play Frontiers Initiative at People’s Light where she is a long-time company member.
