Kyle Metzger is a director, deviser and educator. His productions are magical, theatrical, and often quite queer. After a decade in NYC developing new works, touring Shakespeare adaptations and directing in the city and regional theaters around New England, he is now based in Philadelphia. In Philly, he’s directed new plays such as Hannah and the Healing Stone (The Drake) and the pigeon (Strides Collective), devised Wyck Live! – an immersive theatre experience at Wyck Historic House and directed the American premiere of Drip at Inis Nua. His recent productions of The Little Prince the Musical at Quintessence Theatre Group and Fun Home at New Light Theatre are nominated for multiple Barrymore Awards including Outstanding Direction for Fun Home. For the Philly Fringe Festival, he directed Catholic Guilt by Kelly McCaugan (Shortlisted Best Newcomer at Edinburgh International Fringe), Homos! by Dan Kitrosser (Winner: Best Nightlife Show) and Smooth by Dan Kitrosser. In addition to Arcadia, Kyle has directed and taught theatre at Uarts, Rowan and Rider Universities and is currently on faculty at Temple and Drexel.
