BFA Requirements
Credits
Students are required to take 68 credits in studio courses and 12 credits in Art History for the BFA degree.
Four Studio art courses (12 credits)
- FA 102 Studio Art Foundations I (3 credits)
- FA 103 Studio Art Foundations II (3 credits)
- FA 104 Drawing I (3 credits)
- FA 105 Drawing II (3 credits)
Three courses in Art History (12 credits) - should be taken before senior year
One 100-level course in Art History, including:
- AH 111 Western Art: Renaissance to Modern or
- AH 112 Western Art: Prehistory to Medieval
One 200-level course in Art History, including but not limited to:
- AH 220 Medieval Art
- AH 222 Early Renaissance Art
- AH 224 Baroque Art
- AH 225 Nineteenth Century Art
- AH 226 History of Photography
- AH 228 High Renaissance and Mannerist Art
- AH 232 Art of Ancient Greece and Rome
- AH 234 Global Modernisms
- AH 235 Contemporary Art: 1945 to the Present
- AH 236 Latin American Art
One 300-level course in Art History, including but not limited to:
- AH 323 Contemporary Curatorial Practices

In addition to the Common Curriculum, students must select one of the following studio concentrations. Permission of the Department adviser is required before students are allowed to continue in a chosen area of concentration.
