Research and Internships in Cultural Anthropology
Our students research a range of topics that impact local and global communities. Seniors analyze topics they’re passionate about for their Capstone project, and many students present their work nationally and internationally. Recent projects include:
- Is Sectarianism Still Kicking in Scottish Football? An Examination into Online Behavior and Language by Glasgow Celtic and Rangers FC Fans
- We Live in a Society: Violence and Radicalization in the Internet Manosphere
- A Bad Trip Down The Trail to Nowhere: A Critical Analysis of the Opioid Crisis in Rural Appalachia
- Western Ideologies in South Korea
You’ll also have opportunities to gain hands-on experience through internships and student-led organizations like the Social Justice Society. Student organization members lead discussions, engage in activism, and organize events and fundraisers.
