Earn an MEd and/or PA Leadership Certification for Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility

Candidates for certification must have completed 6 years of full-time teaching or other professionally certificated service in schools, including 3 years in a supervisory or administrative position while holding a valid teaching and administrative certificate.

Required Course

Explore the role characterization of the superintendent and the leadership you provide in each role. This course includes an analysis of the organizational dimensions of a school district and how you must effectively communicate with all stakeholders and members of the school community.

Resolving Ethical Challenges in Educational Institutions

Required Course

Students will explore how to combine and/or adapt ideas stemming from foundational ethical theories as they face dilemmas and difficult decisions. Students will analyze case studies through a multiple paradigm approach.

Pennsylvania has signed the NASDTEC Interstate Agreement that provides for acceptance of state-approved educator preparation programs between certain states to facilitate educator mobility.

Teacher Certification Reciprocity

Arcadia University School of Education is an approved provider of educational programs leading to Pennsylvania Department of Education Professional Certification and offers certification at the undergraduate and post baccalaureate (graduate) levels. Arcadia University has not determined if our curriculum meets the requirements for teacher certification in other states or US territories.
