Physician Assistant (PA) students and faculty from both the Christiana, Del. and Glenside campuses competed at the 16th Annual PA Olympics at Bamboo Gardens in Vincetown, N.J. on April 14.

Nearly 600 students and faculty from PA programs at seven Philadelphia schools gathered for the renowned cross-cultural, medical themed sporting event to raise awareness of the community based organization. A long-time participant in the competition, Arcadia was led by students Kathleen Davis ’19 from Glenside and Jessica Huska ’19 from Christian in its first win, taking home the PA Olympics trophy.

Arcadia students raised $7,748 for the 2018 recipient charity Miracle League, which provides a safe and enjoyable team sport experience for children and young adults with mental and physical disabilities regardless of their experience level or ability. This year’s fundraising broke the record for the most money raised by a single school. Altogether, this year’s fundraising total was $24,500, the most money raised at the PA Olympics to date.

This was the final year Dr. Michael Huber, MMS, PA-C, DFAAPA, professor and director of Clinical Education in Medical Science, served as faculty chair of the PA Olympics, after creating the annual event in 2003. In total, the PA Olympics has raised over $167,000 for local charities.
