Students and Faculty Present on Counseling Experiences and Self-Care

Students and faculty made presentations in this year’s Pennsylvania Counseling Association’s annual conference, “Wellness in Counselor’s Professional and Self Identity,” Nov. 8 to 10 in State College, Pa.
Dr. Lauren Reid, assistant professor of Psychology, Dr. Cathy Lee, assistant professor of Psychology, and Dr. Michael Morrow, associate professor of Psychology, and three Counseling Psychology students Stephanie Leather ’20M, Ariel Virk ’20M, Angela Abraham ’20M, presented on their research.
The students and faculty presented on using a children’s book to prepare families for counseling; promoting self-care; understanding the experiences of host parents for international students; encouraging personal and professional quality of life for counseling interns; and improving help-seeking attitudes among South Indian, Christian communities.
Dr. Morrow was honored during the conference with the Outstanding Research/Publication Award, and Leather received the Outstanding Graduate Student Award.
