52 Students Inducted Into Phi Beta Delta Honors Society
Arcadia University recognized 52 undergraduate students at the Epsilon Kappa Chapter of Phi Beta Delta Honor Society annual induction ceremony on Nov. 19. Held virtually this year, the induction ceremony recognizes students for their academic excellence and international experiences.
This year, Professor of Physical Therapy Dr. Karen Sawyer served as keynote speaker and shared her experience founding and directing the Jamaica pro-bono global experience that Physical Therapy students have the opportunity to participate in during their 25-month program.
“My philosophy is always to leave each person a little better than you left them,” said Dr. Sawyer. “It’s not just about what is on your resume, but who is on your resume and how you’ve made their life better.”
Dr. Nancy Rosoff, dean of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies and president of Arcadia’s Epsilon Kappa Chapter, explained how Phi Beta Delta inductees represent the meaning behind the Greek letters: Love of knowledge (Phi); Valuing Human Life (Beta); and Achieving excellence (Delta).
The 52 inductees each had at least one study abroad experience during their academic career, as well as many having extracurricular experiences volunteering with hospitals and organizations or conducting unique research.
