Actuarial Science Program Recognized by Actuaries Club of Philadelphia at Winter Meeting

The Actuaries Club of Philadelphia donated $500 in support of Arcadia’s Actuarial Science program during the organization’s meeting on February 19. We are grateful to the Actuaries Club for recognizing the program and its contribution to providing a quality student pipeline to the profession.
Arcadia was one of three four programs recognized at the meeting along with Temple University, West Chester University, and St. Joseph’s University.
Four students from the program, Anna Albrecht ’26, Tia Leister ’26, Michael Ren ’26, and Trinity Panza ’26, attended the meeting with Professor Irina Pogrebivsky, FSA. At the meeting, they attended an actuarial professionalism session and had the opportunity to network with local actuaries.
The professionalism session focused on the work that the actuarial profession is doing to ensure that all actuaries follow a set of guidelines in keeping with actuarial standards of practice.
About the Actuarial Science Program
Majoring in Actuarial Science at Arcadia University prepares students for actuarial exams or career paths outside the exam track. Faculty in the program come from diverse professional and academic backgrounds, including an FSA Certified actuary with over 25 years of experience in the industry, as well as professors with PhDs in statistics and actuarial science. The program also works closely with an advisory board of local practicing actuaries to connect students with the professional world.
