Duda Aims to Build on Clinical Career as Physical Therapist with Arcadia’s Healthcare Management and Leadership Certificate Program
After 17 years of clinical work as a physical therapist, Diana Duda, PT, DPT, MSCS, wanted to explore the business and leadership side of healthcare management.
Duda, who completed her bachelor’s degree and Master of Science in Physical Therapy in 2005 and transitional Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2007 from University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, took the leap and enrolled in the Healthcare Management and Leadership Certificate program at Arcadia University.
“The program’s unique design uses real examples of implementation in my current job role,” Duda said. “It offered the opportunity to network with other healthcare professionals in other healthcare organizations to share ideas about the current healthcare model.”
The certificate program aims to prepare clinicians to improve the healthcare system through leadership, knowledge, innovation, and stewardship. Using networking and case-based scenarios, students are immersed in the material and learn valuable skills necessary for a career in healthcare.
Duda hopes “to utilize the information gained in the coursework to build my clinical career as a physical therapist into working in management in healthcare.”
In her spare time, Duda enjoys reading and staying active by running, weight lifting, traveling, and hiking.
