Dr. Oldoni Participates in Next Generation Sequencing Virtual Roundtable
Dr. Fabio Oldoni, director of the Master’s Program in Forensic Science and assistant professor of Forensic Science, participated in the Next Generation Sequencing Virtual Roundtable: Perspectives from Early Adopters and Researchers, which was made possible by the Forensic Technology Center of Excellence (FTCOE) and sponsored by the National Institute of Justice.
Dr. Oldoni joined a panel of forensic science researchers and practitioners with experience integrating next-generation sequencing (NGS) technology into their labs. The panel discussed and shared their perspectives, experiences, and insights about the forces driving the integration of NGS technology into the operations of forensic science service providers, the demands currently associated with the implementation of this ground-breaking technology, and potential future directions. Key points of the discussion can be found here.
“This is a game-changing technology that will open the door to the next big wave of forensic DNA innovations in casework practice,” Dr. Oldoni stated.
