Print communications major Kaitlin Jock ’20 published “The United States has a hostile architecture problem. Is public space becoming private?” with International Network of Street Papers (INSP) News Service on April 26 and Spare Change News on May 3. Jock’s article is critical of a recent movement in American cities in which public spaces are architecturally designed to deter homeless individuals from sleeping there, such as with spikes or dividers on benches or night-time sprinklers.

INSP News Service is a non-government organization that aims to support street papers and strengthen their editorial content. Jock interns with INSP in Glasgow.
