Alexis Anderson ’25

Hometown: Ridley, Pa.

Major: Elementary Education (PreK-4)

Extracurriculars: Throughout my entire time at Arcadia University, I have been a full-time employee at Radnor Elementary School. I take this with great pride because I have fully dedicated my last four years to studying and implementing best practices for teaching young children.

What do you like to do in your free time? In my free time, I love to spend time with my loved ones. Especially catching up with friends and hanging out with my family. I love to travel to new places when I can, but I spend most of my free time reading or connecting with my friends!

What is your proudest accomplishment to date? My proudest accomplishment to date is that I have worked so hard to finish my degree in teaching. I am a first-generation student who worked full-time while studying full-time at Arcadia. I have made academic accomplishments along the way, but I am most proud of myself for staying consistent and being the first member of my family to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree.

Post-grad Plans: My post-grad plans are to find a contracted position in a neighboring school district. Once I am settled into my contract, I plan on applying to a Master’s Program in Elementary Education. My life goal is to get my Doctorate (focus on Education), but one step at a time!

At this year’s Honors Convocation, Anderson received the Horace C. Woodland Memorial Award.

“Alexis Anderson shows deep commitment to adaptability and respect,” said the faculty member who nominated her. “Alexis listens to understand, with compassion for both herself and others, reminding us that true respect is built through active, empathetic listening.”
