Leslie Remache, who earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Arcadia University in 2019, has been accepted into the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program. The GRFP recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in NSF-supported STEM disciplines who are pursuing research-based master’s and doctoral degrees at accredited U.S. institutions. The five-year fellowship provides three years of financial support, including an annual stipend of $34,000 and a cost-of-education allowance of $12,000 to the institution.

At Arcadia, Remache was a member of Psi Chi International Honor Society in Psychology and served as an undergraduate research assistant, career peer advisor, and human resources intern. Remache recently was accepted to Stanford University’s Ph.D. program in social psychology. 

As the oldest graduate fellowship of its kind, the GRFP has a long history of selecting recipients who achieve high levels of success in their academic and professional careers. Past fellows include former U.S. Secretary of Energy Steven Chu, Google founder Sergey Brin, and Freakonomics co-author Steven Levitt. To date, 42 fellows have gone on to become Nobel laureates, and more than 450 have become members of the National Academy of Sciences.
