Visual and Performing Arts Faculty Present at Arts Education Conference
Carole Loeffler, a professor of Visual and Performing Arts, along with Adjunct Professors of Visual and Performing Arts Maryann Worrell ’05 and Krista Profitt ’11, led a session at the 2025 Foundations in Art: Theory and Education (FATE) Conference, held recently at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va.
In the session, titled “Same Old! Same Old? Innovations, Adaptation, and Experimentation in Pedagogy,” the trio spoke about the rapidly evolving educational landscape, then led a panel discussion on how educators are responding to the needs of students today. The discussion included Chris Wildrick of Syracuse University, Ashley Dahlke of Cochise College, and Beatrice Carey Carter of Rowan University.

“Attending the FATE conference with such inspiring and generous colleagues like Maryann and Krista was energizing,” Loeffler said. “It was great to share ideas, ask big questions, and dream up new possibilities together with colleagues from across the country.”
“This session was so much fun,” Worrell added. “I will definitely take some of these ideas back to the classroom.”
The trio will share their thoughts and findings with the Arcadia community during workshops hosted by the Center For Teaching, Learning, and Mentoring (CTLM) in May.
