Mentor Who Made an Impact
Dr. Doreen Loury, associate professor of Sociology, Anthropolgy, and Criminal Justice at Arcadia and executive director of the Black Male Development Symposium, has made a significant impact in my life academically, professionally, and personally. Serving as her graduate assistant through both my M.A. and Ed.D. gave me an up-close education on how to be an exemplary scholar, educator, and community organizer. I could not be more thankful and proud to have worked with Dr. Loury in my time at Arcadia.
Greatest Achievement
The work that I have done and continue to do in the field of youth development, and seeing those students enroll in schools (including Arcadia) and go on to graduate with degrees in their interests.
In Five Years…
I will be continuing with the development of my company, JusListen Entertainment, LLC, by creating new music, photography, and providing youth workshops.
Serving as [Dr. Loury’s] graduate assistant through both my M.A. and Ed.D. gave me an up-close education on how to be an exemplary scholar, educator, and community organizer.
