Something for Everyone
On Feb. 3, Arcadia held the Spring Activities Fair. With enough clubs to fill the Great Room, it was apparent that there’s a club for everyone at Arcadia. No matter what your hobbies or interests are, you’ll be able to find the right group for you.
I spent the fair sitting at a table to represent Arcadia FTK, a student organization fundraising for the Four Diamonds Fund. We host different fundraisers and raffles throughout the semester to raise money for families affected by childhood cancer and who are treated at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital in Hershey. Everything culminates at our five-hour dance marathon, Dance All Knight.
Both planning and participating in events with Arcadia FTK has been a lot of fun and really rewarding. So far we’ve already hosted several successful fundraisers, like Dine & Donates at local restaurants, including Chipotle, Humpty’s Dumplings, and P.J. Whelihan’s. A good cause is the perfect excuse for a night out of good food. We used this chance at the activities fair to spread the word of open registration for our main event and look for interested volunteers to help plan and run our events. We also used the fair to announce our upcoming dodgeball tournament.
Of course we were only one of many clubs on display at the fair. Maybe you have an interest in science and would like to join the Psychology club, which is open to all students, not just Psych majors. Or you’re looking for a way to get active with a team sport and would like to join Ultimate Frisbee and compete with other colleges in our area. Or, you might be interested in other cultures and would have fun hanging out with members of the K-Pop club. Perhaps you’re looking to flex your creative muscles and would enjoy Writer’s Bloc, the creative writing club.
“Though there is such a great variety of clubs at Arcadia, one thing they all have in common is enthusiastic students who love to share their interests and hobbies with each other.”

I’ve also shared before about experiences with the religious clubs at school. Similar to Newman Club is ACF: Arcadia Christian Fellowship. I can personally vouch for this club and what a great time meetings are. Both Large Groups, which is the main general body meeting, and Small Groups, specialized discussion groups that meet throughout the week, bring together students who like to share and discuss their faith and encourage each other. The leadership team proved the lighthearted and fun nature of the club with rubber ducks for interested students to take from their table at the fair. Written on the ducks was the meeting time and location, and the Great Hall was filled with squeakers from the students who took one home with them.
Though there is such a great variety of clubs at Arcadia, one thing they all have in common is enthusiastic students who love to share their interests and hobbies with each other. Joining a club, or many clubs, is a great way to make friends, develop skills, and keep boredom at bay.
Student organizations provide opportunities for leadership growth and development and support the social, educational, and cultural life of Arcadia University. You are encouraged to join and serve in Arcadia student organizations. By participating you will grow personally and professionally while building new friendships and developing key leadership skills.
