Why Arcadia?
Out of the thousands of schools located in the United States I decided to come to Arcadia University. But why? I had gotten accepted to a wide variety of different schools all focusing on different criteria. Some schools were huge while others were relatively small. Some had a variety of different food options and some only had a few. Some had huge school spirit and football games while some didn’t even have football. However, my heart eventually led me to choose Arcadia and I do not regret this decision.

Several different things helped me pick Arcadia and one of the main reasons was the class sizes. Class sizes usually range from 20-30 students and having this amount of students in class allows me to feel a different and more personal relationship with my professors. I feel this is especially important for me because I am a double major and by having this connection I’m able to learn and understand concepts better because I can ask questions and schedule one-on-one meetings whenever I need.
Another main reason I chose Arcadia is because of how diverse the classes themselves are. With being a double major I truly believed that I was only going to be able to take courses required for my majors and that I wouldn’t have much free time for any other type of classes. However, this semester I was able to take my core classes while also fitting in a ceramics class. I love this concept of being able to build my own schedule with what I see fit because I’m able to learn a variety of skills and enjoy different types of electives while still being able to focus on my majors and graduate on time.
I also chose Arcadia because it’s beautiful. Although this reason might seem relatively small and not as important, to me it truly was. In choosing a beautiful campus with an amazing atmosphere I was able to learn to love and appreciate the space before I even made friends on campus. I felt like the campus itself was calling me and that was very welcoming which was different from the other colleges I got accepted into.
Overall I have no complaints about the college I chose. I do believe college has its fair share of ups and downs and you might not always feel like you belong. However, even when I sometimes feel like this, I still feel like Arcadia is my home. Picking this school has allowed me to begin to grow more than I even imagined and I can’t wait to see what the future will bring.
