Sponsored Projects Support
Proposal Development
- Identify funding opportunities
- Assist with the interpretation of funding opportunity guidelines
- Assist with budget development and justification
- Secure necessary institutional letters of support and certifications
- Secure the university approval for submission of grant proposals to Sponsors
- Ensure proper review of the grant proposal components by collaborating institutions
- Submit grant proposals on behalf of the institution to Sponsors.
Administration
- Provide guidance on matters related to grant administration
- Coordinate effort certification reporting
- Coordinate the preparation and execution of the subaward agreements
- Coordinate the execution of grant award agreements to the university
- Work with Project Directors and Principal Investigators to ensure financial compliance on grants
Compliance Oversight
- Develop policies related to Sponsored Project Administration to ensure compliance with government regulations
- Provide regulatory oversight of university-approved research that involve human participants and animal subjects
- Oversee Financial Conflict of Interest Policy and conduct annual Significant Financial Interest disclosure certifications
- Oversee the Institutional Policy on Research Misconduct and ensure research misconduct training requirements and certifications are in place
Committee on the Protection of Research Subjects (COPRS)
COPRS oversees all on-campus and off-campus, university-approved research involving human participants and animal subjects. COPRS consists of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). This oversight is applicable to all research, research training, experimentation, biological testing, psychological testing, use of animals in teaching, and related activities. If you will be conducting research involving human participants or animal subjects, you must seek approval through the IRB or IACUC.
